When can my baby eat Quinoa?

Quinoa may be introduced to baby from 8 months of age although many babies do tolerate it prior to 8 months. This nutritious grain makes a great addition to your little one’s diet and it is very versatile

The Incas gave quinoa this name because they thought that eating the grain meant good health and longevity. Quinoa is becoming a popular grain in North America however the sweetest and most flavorful quinoa is that grown in South America. Quinoa is packed with fiber, calcium, iron and folate to name a few of it’s nutrients

Prep Time : 5 mins Cooking Time : 10 mins
Serves : 1 cup Cuisine : Indian


Ingredients:
Quinoa : 1.5 tbsp
Moongdal : 1 tbsp
Carrot : 1 chopped
Tomato : 1/2 sliced
Shallot : 1 sclied
hing/asafoedita : 1/8 tsp
ajwain : 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder : 1/2 tsp
Water : 1 cup
Ghee as needed

Method :
1. wash and soak quinoa and moongdal for 30 mins. Then add in all other ingredients and mix well.
2. Press cook for 15 mins on medium heat. Once air released, mash up with masher. add ghee and serve you baby lukewarm.
