Smelt Fish Fry/Nethili Meen Varuval/Crispy nethili meen 65 recipe

Crispy, easy and a tasty recipe. This dish can be eaten as an appetizer or as a side with traditional Indian food.

Nethili Meen Varuval is a simple spicy fish fry, made by deep frying spice mixture coated fish pieces. Deep-fried Nethili is a favorite in my house. The nicely-sized smelt (they were significantly larger than usual) I saw at the Asian supermarket today awakened a desire for some crispy smelt fish.

Smelt, Anchovies or Nethili ~a family of small fish are an excellent source of Selenium, Vitamin B12 and Potassium.

My hubby and son are scare to eat fish with bone. Smelt fish are anchovy family. But little bit big in size. So i removed bones. If you want, you can cook just like that. We will need gutted and cleaned Nethili fish for this fish fry. Clean and wash the Nethili in salt water. Set aside to dry. If the smelt fish are small, keep the bones in. If the smelt fish are big (More than 2 inches), its easy to remove the bones. Today I had big smelt fish. So it if easy to remove its bones.
