Homemade Oatmeal cereal and porridge is fine to introduce to your baby from 4 months to 6 months. Please remember that the current recommendations for starting baby on solid foods is 6 months. Oatmeal cereal may be a better starter cereal than rice as it is less constipating and many babies prefer the taste of oats. When you introduce Oats to your baby, start with plain oats porridge. Recipes to homemade oats meal cereal and porridge:

Rolled Oats: 1 cups

Water : 1/4 cup

Homemade Oats cereal : 1 tsp for porridge

Method:

  1. Take a cup of rolled oats, roast it in pan on medium heat till oats should get light brown here and there.
  2. allow it to cool down. Transfer it to mixer jar. Make fine powder.
  3. Take a 1/4 cup of water with 1 tsp of oats cereals. Mix with no lumps.
  4. Cook it on medium heat, stir it without leaving hands for 5-7 mins.
  5. Serve to your baby. After 6 months means, you can add cinnamon powder, fruit puree to it.
