Bread Halwa, I made this sweet for our little princess HESHA’s 1/2 birthday (6th month completed yeh) a week ago. I have no time to post this immediately. I planned to make a cake on that day. But due to vaccine on that day, she was very cranky. So, just make a bread halwa to celebrate her 1/2 birthday.
Enjoying each and every moment with her. Just taking snap and recording video of her every moments. While posting this, recapping all moments of my pregnancy and delivery (Big) day. After 14 hours of waiting, she came out. What a moment. Damn sure, every mother’s never forget her delivery day in her life time of each kids.
In this moment, I like to tell about my prince HEYMANTH. Really im blessed to have son like him. Through my pregnancy with Hesha, he took care of me as a mom. He is 5.9 years old now. When I vomited, he will come and hold my head. Helped me in household work, in kitchen etc., If I coughed means, he used to say. Mommy take care, it going to affect my sister in your tummy at any cause. After delivery to till now, he didn’t allow me to lift weight, if he is at home. Really really im blessed mom to have a son like HEYMANTH. I like to share his pic here.
Ok just jump in to bread halwa. It can be done in three types like, deep fried, shallow fried and powder a bread. Here im sharing deep fried method. Do try and let me know how it turns out friends.
Prep Time : 15 mins Cooking Time : 25 mins
Serves : 6-7

Milk : 2 cups
Ghee : 1/4 cups + 2 tbsp
Elachi powder : 1/4 tsp
Sugar : 3/4 cups
Almonds : 8 (Sliced)
Cashews : 10 into pieces
Oil to deep fry
- Take a breads and cut them into cubes. Heat oil + ghee in a pan. Deep fry cubed bread on both sides, keep aside.
- Meanwhile boil milk in a saucepan. Crush fried bread pieces and add in to boiled milk. Bring to boil and put the heat to low. Let it cook for few minutes and mash it as it gets cooked soft.
- Bread should cook well in milk. Then add in ealchi powder and sugar. Mix well. Keep mixing mashing it well until oil oozes out. Then add in fried badam/almonds and cashews in ghee to halwa.
- Turn of heat. Let it sit for a while and serve hot or warm as you wish.
you can deep fry bread in oil or ghee as your wish
You can add cashew and almonds without frying in ghee just like that.
I didn’t remove the sides of bread and I don’t have a problem with that too.
I used whole wheat bread, you can use any variety of bread.
