Mixed Vegetable Pakora/Veg pakoda Recipe


Mixed veg pakora | vegetable pakora | pakoda is a popular tea time snack recipe, made with any veggies of your choice. Vegetable Pakora recipe is an easy to make Indian starter prepared with mixed vegetables, chickpea flour and carom seeds. Mixed vegetable pakoras as the name suggests are made with a variety of vegetables. Pakoras are great as an appetizer or snack for any type of the gathering.

Mixed vegetable pakoras as the name suggests are made with a variety of vegetables. They are perfect for a rainy day, and even more delicious paired with a cup of hot Masala Tea/Chai

Prep Time : 20 mins        Cooking Time : 5 mins each batch

Serves : 5-6


Carrot (julienne) : 1 no.

Onions (julienne) : 1no.

Bell Pepper ( julienne) : 1 no. (small size)

Potato (julienne) : 2 nos. (medium Size)

Spinach (chopped) : 1/2 cup

Coriander seeds : 1 tbsp

Carom Seeds (ajwain) : 1 tsp

Fennel Seeds : 1/2 tbsp

Chickpea/Gram Flour : 1 cup

Rice Flour : 1/4 cup

Kasoori methi – 1 tbsp

Red chilly powder : 1 tbsp

Turmeric powder : 1 tsp

Salt to taste

Oil to deep fry


  1. Take some coriander seeds, fennel seeds; make a coarse powder on mortar pestle.IMG_20171212_2119082. Cut all veggies you like, chop them into juliennes. Set aside.IMG_20171212_2111193. Take a bowl add powder of coriander and fennel seeds, ajwain, chickpea flour, Rice flour, Kasthoori methi, salt, oil and mix them till sandy texture.

    4. Now add in all chopped julienne veggies with chilly and turmeric powder. IMG_20171212_2126245. Mix it properly and rest for 5 minutes. Sprinkle some water and make a dough. Heat oil in a pan for deep-fry. Put small dumplings in oil and fry till golden color.IMG_20171212_213331

Serve it with hot chutney or with ketchup. Enjoy it with hot chai/Tea.
