This Indian crab curry has blend of good spices and coconut. All this makes this curry special and mouth watering. Once you have this I bet you will make it always. The crab curry taste will linger on your taste-buds always. This recipe i learnt it from my hubby’s grandma. This curry goes well with steamed rice, Bread or Chapatis. You could also make this curry as a main course in your meal. Already i have posted How to clean a live crabs The hygiene is important you need to clean the crabs thoroughly. If you are using alive crabs be careful before dicing them.

Ingredients:
Blue Crabs : 2 lbs live crabs
Green chilly : 3
Ginger : 1 inch
Garlic : 4
Onion : 1 large
Tomato : 4 large
Grated coconut : 1 cup
Fennel seeds : 1 tsp
Poppy seeds : 1 tsp
Turmeric powder : 1 tsp
Red chilly powder : 1 tsp
Coriander powder : 2 tsp
Lemon or tamarind juice : 1 tbsp (optional)
salt to taste
Oil : 3 tbsp
Method:
- Take all ingredients ready. Grind all the above ingredients except crab and lemon jucie to smooth. Keep it ready.
2. Heat oil in pan. Transfer masala to pan and cook it till raw smell leaves. Add in lemon or tamarind juice. Check consistency, add water. Then add in cleaned crabs. Cook it for 5 mins on medium heat.
3. If you like to cook in cooker, heat oil and masala with crab. Pressure cook it for 2 whistle. Open lid check consistency, boil it for 2 more mins. Garnish with coriander leaves.
