Mangalore bajji is the adapted name for goli baje. Goli baje got the name of mangalore bajji when it became popular in other cities of karnataka. Goli baje is a favourite evening snack recipe in most of popular restaurants of udupi and mangalore. It is basically made of maida or plain flour and is shaped into round balls. I love this bajji or bonda whatever you call. I have made this so many times other anything else. Do not confuse goli baje with mysore bonda. Goli baje or mangalore bajji and mysore bonda are completely different. But both taste equally good.

Prep Time : 10 mins Cooking Time : 5 mins each batch
All Purpose Flour / Maida : 1 cup
Gram Flour : 1/4 cup
Rice Flour : 2 tbsp
Green Chilly : 2 chopped
Ginger : 1 inch chopped
Cumin Seeds : 1 tsp
Onion : 4 tbsp Finely chopped
Yogurt/curd : 1/2 cup (as needed)
Coriander Leaves : 1 tbsp finely chopped
Salt as needed
Sugar : 1/2 tsp
Baking Soda : 1/2 tsp
Oil for deep Fry
- Take all the ingredients in a bowl and make it into a smooth batter with yogurt or curd. Check a batter consistency, it should be like vada batter.
2. Heat oil for deep frying, take small portion of batter. Drop it hot oil and fry till golden.
Drain and serve it with chutney. I served it with Tea. Soft, tangy and fluffy bonda Ready
