Chicken 65 is a popuplar south Indian starter and street food as well. Chicken 65 can be prepared with or without bones. The preparation of Chicken 65 differs from one place to another according to their taste. The recipe im sharing here is a street food style of chicken 65. It is also served in some of South Indian Restaurants in Tamilnadu. Normally, the chicken 65 that is served is a fiery red in color that is because red color is added to it. You can make chicken 65 in many ways, cooking method can vary, but the taste is in the spices.
Serves : 4 Marinating Time : Over night
Prep Time : 10 mins Cooking Time : 8-10 mins
Chicken : 1/2 kg boneless cut into pieces
Egg : 1
Kashimiri chilly powder : 1 tbsp
Coriander Powder : 1 tbsp
Garam Masala : 1 tbsp
Ginger Garlic Paste : 2 tbsp
Lemon juice : 1 small size
Corn flour : 2-3 tbsp
Salt to taste
Oil for deep frying
- Clean chicken and wash. Squeeze of excess water completely. Mix all the ingredients except oil and corn flour. Leave it to marinate overnight.
2. Now take the chicken out of fridge 30 mins before frying so it comes to room temp. Now add in corn flour and mix well. Drop in hot oil and fry till golden. It will take around 7 to 10 mins depending on the size of the chicken.
Drain out and serve it hot with fried green chilies, slices onion and lemon wedges.
- If you not having kashmiri chilliy powder, you can add normal red chilly powder. For color i added kashmiri chilly powder.
- If you want, you can add a tsp of rice flour also.
