Chili soyabean is one of my favourite vegetarian recipes. It is a brilliant substitute for Chilli Chicken. This Indian Chinese fusion recipe is made of soyabean chunks or nuggets. It is cooked with few masalas and different sauces. The interesting fact is that soyabean has more protein than chicken. Chili Soyabean can be served with fried rice or simply with Indian Parathas.

Serves : 3-4

Prep Time : 10  mins        Cooking Time : 30 mins

Ingredients:

Onion : 1 small sliced thinly

Capsicum/Bell pepper :  1/2 sliced lengthwise

Ginger Garlic paste : 2 tbsp

Vinegar : 2 tsp or to taste

Green chilli Sauce : 1 tbsp or to taste

Tomato Ketchup : 2 tbsp or to taste

Red chili sauce : 1 tbsp or to taste

Dark Soy sauce : 2 tbsp or to taste

Salt to taste

Sugar : 1/2 tsp

Oil : 3 tbsp

For Marination:

Soya chunks/meal maker : 3 cups cooked

Ginger Garlic Paste : 1 tbsp

Red chili powder : 2 tsp

Corn flour : 2 tbsp

salt to taste

Method:

  1. Cook meal maker to soft. Drain it and squeeze out water. Marinate it with marination ingredients for 20 mins, set aside.

    2. Heat oil in a frying pan, once it is hot, add in the soya and toss well in the oil. Cook till it is golden. Remove it to a plate. Now in the remaining oil, add in onions, ginger garlic paste and capsicum with salt and sugar, saute for couple of mins.

    3. Add in all sauces and vinegar, mix well and cook it for 5 more mins. Add in fried soya and toss well in the sauce. Cook this for couple of mins.

    Serve it with pulav, fried rice or anything.20170426_091410
