Mint chutney is a spicy dip made from mint leaves. It is an extremely flavor condiment. It is one of the most popular Indian chutneys around, as it can be served with almost any food. My family love mint chutney very much. I will eat mint chutney just like that. Mild flavor of ginger enhance taste of mint chutney.

Serves : 3 -4

Prep Time : 10 mins     Cooking Time : 5 mins

Ingredients:

Mint Leaves : 1 cup (loosely Packed)

Green chilly : 1-2

Ginger : 1/2 inch chopped

Coriander Leaves : 1/4 cup

Grated Coconut : 1/2 cup

Salt to taste

To Temper:

Oil : 1 tsp

Mustard Seeds : 1 tsp

Urad Dal : 1/2 tsp

Curry Leaf : few

Method:

  1. Wash the mint leaves and let it retain some water. Heat a pan with oil, season with the items given under ‘To temper’. Transfer to a serving bowl.
  2. In the same pan, add the washed mint leaves and saute the leaves in medium flame until it just shrinks in volume.

    3. Turn off heat, allow it cools down completely. Add other ingredients and grind it with required salt. Transfer it to a bowl and serve. I served it with hot idlies. 20170413_203148

    Notes :

    1. You can add 2 tsp pottukadalai/roasted channa dal also, if you like add.
