This is one of my family’s favorite dish. I deep fried arbi, you can shallow fry them also. But we love deep fry arbi, off course is there any deep fried dish is not tasty?. I used red chilly and coriander powder, instead of this you can add sambar powder also.

Serves : 2-3

Prep Time :15 mins        Cooking Time : 20 mins


Seppankizhangu/Arbi : 9

Red chilly powder : 1 tsp

Coriander : 1tsp

Garam Masala : 1 tsp

Salt to taste

Oil : for deep fry


  1. Pressure cook seppankizhangu in pressure cooker for 1-2 whistles. Once cools down, peel off skin and cut them 1/2 inch size as pic below.

2. Take kizhangu and all other ingredients except oil in a wide bowl/plate, mix them all. Deep fry in hot oil until both sides gets golden brown fried. Turn in between to make sure it gets cooked evenly.

Drain in paper towels to get rid of excess oil. Serve it with meals or as a snacks also.20170317_092135.jpg
