My mom used to do this red chilies coconut chutney for idly and dosa. She use Stone Hand grinder to grind chutney mostly. I love to have this chutney with idly, in other addition yesterday fish curry also. Red coconut chutney, idly and fish curry, my tongue start drooling.

Serve : 2-3

Prep time : 5 mins       Cooking Time : 10 mins

Ingredients:

Grated Coconut : 1/2 cup

Roasted channa dal/Pottukadalai : 1/4 cup

Dry red chilly : 1-2

Garlic : 3

Ginger : 1/2 inch

Tamarind : Amla size

Salt to taste

To Temper:

Oil : 1 tsp

Mustard Seed : 1/2 tsp

Curry leaves : few

Hing : a pinch

Method:

  1. Take all ingredients ready. Take it to a blender and add water. Make a smooth paste.

2. Transfer it to a serving bowl. Then temper it with tempering agents, mix well with chutney. Serve it with idly or dosa.20170307_202706
