Chicken masala will go with white rice, briyani, chapatti, idly, dosa etc., This is one of my mom’s favorite recipe. My parents dont like chicken that much, so monthly once my mom will do this chicken masala for me and for my sister. After marriage, i started to try lot of chicken recipes. But this is so simple and flavorful chicken masala, with no coconut. You can make it thick and thin form as you needed. Here you go.

Serves : 4

Prep Time : 10 mins     Cooking Time : 30 mins

Ingredients:

Chicken : 500 gms

Onion : 1 small size chopped

Tomato : 2 Chopped

Ginger Garlic Paste : 2 tsp

Turmeric powder : 1 tsp

Red chilly powder : 1 tsp

Coriander Powder : 2 tbsp

Cumin Powder : 1 tbsp

Pepper Powder : 1 tsp

Garam masala : 1 tbsp

Salt to taste

Coriander leaves for garnishing

For Tempering:

Oil : 3 tbsp

Fennel Seeds : 1tsp

Cardamon : 2

Cinnamon : 1 inch

cloves : 3

Method:

1. Heat oil in a kadai, add tempering agents. Once it cracked, add onion. Saute it till golden brown.  Add in ginger garlic paste, saute it for a min.

2. Add in chopped tomatoes and saute it till the tomatoes turn mushy. Then add in clean chicken, mix well for a while.

3. Then take all spice powder and salt, mix it with chicken. Cover and cook, till chicken get soft and tender. Oil will bloat on the top.

Serve with rice, briyani, chapatti as your wish and enjoy your chicken masala.20170211_130007

 

Notes :

  1. You can cook in pressure cooker also. If means cook for 3 whistles.
