This is my moms recipes. My dad love only this potato curry, non other than any potato recipe. This urulai pattani roast will go with sambar, rasam, chapatti, variety rice etc.,  This makes for a simple yet very very satisfying lunch. Try and let me know how it turns.

Serves : 3

Prep Time : 10 mins     Cooking Time : 20 mins


Potato : 3 (cooked and cubed)

Green peas : 1/4 cup (i used frozen)

Onion : 1/4 cup chopped

Tomato : 2 chopped

Crushed Ginger Garlic : 1 tbsp

Kuzhumbu milagai podi : 2 tsp

Salt to taste

oil : 3 tbsp

Mustard Seeds : 1 tsp


  1. Heat oil, add mustard seeds, when its splutters, add onion and saute it until transparent. Then add crushed ginger garlic, saute it for a while, then add tomatoes, cook it to mushy.


2. Now add cooked and cubed potato and kuzhumbu milagai podi, salt and 1/2 cup of water. Then add green peas, cook on medium flame stirring now and then. Sprinkle oil in between.

3. Cook for another 5 minutes until everything gets blended well with the spice powder. Remove from heat, garnish with coriander leaves and serve with sambar rice, chapatti or with any variety rice.20170118_085806


Notes :

  1. If you not having kuzhumbu milagai podi, you can add red chilly powder, coriander powder with garam masala.
