Fried onions are a popular snack food, garnish, or vegetable accompaniment to various recipes. Common fried onions are cooked by basic pan frying or sauteing of sliced onions. In indian reciepes, fried onions are mostly used for briyani. Here in this link we are going to see how to make fried onions at home like store bought.

Prep Time : 10 mins     Cooking time : 5 mins each batch

Ingredients:

Onions : 2 medium size

Rice flour : 2 tbsp

Oil for deep fry

Method:

  1. Peel a onion, wash and start slicing very thinly. Then place a clean cloth, spread the sliced onions.
  2. Allow it to dry for 1 day at room temperature. Next day take dried onions in a bowl, add rice flour and mix well.
  3. Heat oil for deep frying, once oil got heat, start frying it little by little. Take fried onions in paper towel. Once cool down, you can store in a jar for a month. Use when required.20170101_113902
