Sweet kuzhipaniyaram or Jaggery kuzhi paniyaram is a very popular south Indian dish. We use the same batter for making both appam and Idly batter for kuzhi paniyaram. If the batter is in dosa batter consistency we can make appam or if it is in idly batter consistency we can make kuli paniyaram. If you not having appam batter, can make in idly batter also. Here we are going to see with idly batter only. Have a try and let me know how it turns out.
Prep time : 5 mins Cooking Time : 5 mins each batch
Idly batter : 1.5 cups
Powder jaggery : 2/3 cup
Rava : 4 tsp
Cardamom Powder : 1 tsp
oil as required
- First in a pan take powdered jaggery and little water, allow it to boil up to jaggery dissolves in water. Soak rava with equal amount of water for 10 mins.2. Then, add jaggery water, rava without water, elachi powder in to idly batter and mix well. Heat Kuzhipaniyaram chetty. Then add little oil in each kuzhi’s and ladle batter into it. cook for 3 mins on medium heat.
3. Once edges turned golden brown in color, with a stick try to turn it. Then cook for 2 mins. Once done take all paniyaram with the help of the stick to a plate. Serve hot with tea or you can have for breakfast also.Notes:
1. Why, im adding soak rava mean, it will give thickness and crispy edges for kuzhi paniyaram.
