Simple Fish Fry

Fish fry refers to any fish or shell fish that has been prepared for frying. Often, the fish is covered in batter, or flour, or herbs, and spices before being fried. Fish is fried in many parts of the world, and fried fish is an important food in many cuisines. Here we are going to see tamarind fish fry.

Serves : 2-3     Soaking time : 1 Hour

Prep Time : 10mins     Frying Time : 10mins


Fish : 12 pieces ( any kind of fish )

Tamarind Thick Paste : 1/2 cup

Sambar powder : 6 tsp

salt to taste

oil for frying


  1. Cut fish and wash clean. Then take tamarind thick paste from tamarind pulp as shown in pic.20161218_110752

2. Then add sambar powder, salt and 1 tsp oil mix well. Add this paste to washed fish, mix well to coat all fishes. Keep in refrigerator for an hour.


3.  After an hour in a non stick pan take oil, once heat arrange fish into it. Cook on medium heat for 5 mins and flip over cook, till brown color

  1. If u like to deep fry a fish, yes u can fry.
