Serves : 2 -3

Spinach : 1 cup (finely chopped)

Onion : 1/2 finely chopped

Sambar powder : 2 tsp

Coriander powder : 1 tsp

oil/Ghee : 3tsp

Mustard : 1tsp

Hing : 1/2 tsp

Sugar : 1 pinch

Salt to taste

To Cook Dal:

Toor Dal : 75 Gm

Tomato : 3 chopped

Cumin : 1 tsp

Turmeric : 1/2 tsp

Water : 1 cup


  1. First cook a toor dal with ingredients mentioned below. Smash it with spoon.20161215_194116.jpg

2. In a kadai, take oil, add mustard seed, hing, then chopped onions. saute for 2 mins.

Then add finely chopped spinach, add a pinch of sugar and cook till it shrink.

3. Then add cooked spinach to dal. And add salt, sambar powder and coriander powder.

4. Mix well and add some water. Allow it to boil for 5 mins. Then serve with rice.20161216_130835
